French Majolica Oyster Plate: Vintage Faience Pottery
A most attractive French oyster plate dating from around the 1950s. This gorgeous plate is formed with spaces for six oysters. We have six plates available*.
This lovely example of French Faience pottery is made from ironstone with a tan coloured glaze. There are six shell shaped spaces for the oysters. In the centre is a space to place a lemon or dipping sauce. The plate is in very condition with just tiny imperfections to the glaze in places. This would have have happened during manufacturing. Please check the photos to ensure you are aware of the vintage condition. The plate measures 24cm diameter.
Either displayed or in use, this fabulous plate is so decorative. It would look great just propped on a shelf in your kitchen or as part of a service or collection of Faience tableware.
