Mason's Brown Velvet Floral Soup Bowls (Pair)

£15.00

A pair of vintage Mason's bowls in the 'Brown Velvet' pattern. These transferware bowls date from circa 1930.

The off-white ironstone bowls are shallow with a deep lip and a gently undulating rim. The shape and depth of the bowls indicate they they are likely for consomme or soup. The pretty pattern, in the base of the bowl, depicts a scrolling vine with leaves and flowers. The colours are shades of green with pretty pink, mauve and yellow in the flowers. The bowls are in excellent vintage condition, with just some surface crazing to the glaze as would be expected with age. Please look at all the photos to ensure you are aware of the condition. The bowls are stamped at the back with the Mason's mark along with the number C4869.

The plates measure 23 cm in diameter and roughly 2.5cm deep.

The bowls would look fabulous as part of a table setting and are very decorative display pieces. Ideal also for wedding tableware or for use in a cafe. The price stated is for the pair of bowls.
