Original Oil Painting of Flowers

A sumptuous painting of a bunch of flowers painted in oil on canvas. The painting, from the 1980s, is signed by the artist. The canvas is unframed measuring 41cm x 30cm.

This lovely, impasto painting shows the artist's vigorous brushwork and the bright natural colours of the pink and white roses. The lively brush marks are combined with sgraffito - a technique of scratching into the paint surface to add texture. The painting is in great condition. There is a narrow mark around the perimeter where it was previously framed. This in no way detracts from the decorative appeal.
