Pair of Vintage Carlton Ware Lobster Dishes

A pair of Carlton Ware majolica dishes with a lobster pattern. These nature inspired dishes are finished in a pretty soft green glaze with relief decoration.

The dishes are part of Carlton Ware's Australian series, designed for export to the commonwealth. The 'ladle' shaped dishes are beautifully modelled with a lobster on the handle extending into the bowl, which is further decorated with two leaves. The soft, green glaze make these dishes very attractive decorative pieces for summer table decor. The dishes measure 19cm long x 11cm wide x 4cm deep. This makes them perfect for dips or individual servings of salad. The dishes are in excellent condition. There are some minor glaze imperfections with one dish showing a couple of dark specks inside the bowl. Please look at all the photos to ensure you are aware of the condition.
