Birds of America Plate with Cedar Waxwing

A stunning bird plate featuring Cedar Waxwings. This plate is from the Birds of America series produced by Adam’s Pottery in England.

This large plate is white with an embossed laurel edging. In the centre the transfer features two waxwings sitting in the branches of a (cedar?) tree. The transfer is from the original drawings of John James Audubon. The plate is in good condition for its age. There is some surface crazing around the edges of the bird pattern. Please see photos and check them carefully to ensure that you are happy with the vintage condition. The makers mark is clearly stamped on the back. The plate measures 26.5 cm in diameter

This plate is designed for a plate wall. A lovely gift for a bird lover and a very collectible piece. A really lovely piece of pottery to be admired and enjoyed. To preserve the quality of the transfer pattern, we would suggest that the plate is used for decoration only.
