Vintage Chalkware Terrier Figurine

A charming sculptural figurine of a terrier dog in chalkware, dating from around the 1950s.

Chalkware sculptures were popular throughout the first half of the 20th century. Modelled in clay and cast in plaster, they are simply painted but so full of character. This delightful little dog is painted black and tan and his face is so full of expression. Chalkware is a fairly soft material and the figure shows signs of wear with paint chips over the surface, more particularly on his back. This age related wear only adds to his vintage appeal. Please look at all the photographs to ensure you are aware of the condition.

The sculpture measures 20cm high.
