Vintage French Pen Box

A pretty pen or pencil box beautifully decorated with birds on wire. Originating from France, the black lacquered box has compartments inside and a hinged lid.

The box is black lacquered and may be made of wood or papier mache. The decoration is decoupaged onto the lid. The picture is showing signs of wear which really adds to its vintage appeal. The lid is hinged and although the box originally had a catch, this no longer works. Please look at all the photos to ensure you are aware of the condition.

The box measures 20cm long x 5.5cm deep x approximately 2.5cm high.

The box would be lovely in use but has so much decorative appeal and vintage charm that it would look great just displayed on a shelf or desk.
