Vintage Naruko Kokeshi Doll

A lovely example of a Naruko Kokeshi doll. The doll has pretty hand painted decoration and has developed a pleasing patina over time. She measures 18cm high.

The doll has the slightly concave, tapering body and rounded head typical of the Naruko style. The decoration on the front is of chrysanthemums. The doll is signed on the base showing the names of the maker and decorator. 

This slightly smaller doll likely dates from the early to mid 20th century and shows signs of wear commensurate with age. There is some fading or wear to the paint on the body and top of the head. Please look at all the photos to ensure you are aware of the condition. The doll measures 18cm high.

This Kokeshi is a beautiful example and would sit well as part of a collection. She is so decorative and would look great on display anywhere in your home.
